Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqat imposed a fine of Rs 1,000 on himself.
As a precautionary measure against the second wave of coronavirus, people in Islamabad have been instructed to wear masks when going out and especially in public places.
Section 144 has been imposed by the Islamabad administration to prevent corona and police have also been allowed to arrest citizens who go out without masks.
All citizens in the federal capital are strictly following the orders to wear masks, but when Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqat was seen without a mask on arrival at a function, a journalist present there immediately took a picture of him breaking the law of wearing a mask at public places.
The concerned journalist, while uploading the photos of Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqat on social media without wearing a mask, wrote that our office people do not allow us to take off the mask for a moment because there are orders from DC Islamabad. But I wish someone would fine DC Sahib and seal him for a few days.

In response to this tweet, DC Islamabad wrote that when I got out of my car, I took off my mask for a few seconds, but when I saw a journalist taking a picture of me, I immediately wore the mask again. However, I take the point. I’ll submit Rs 1000 in Govt Account as a fine and show challah here Folded hands
I came out of my car and took off the mask for a few seconds but I saw NG (reporter) taking my pictures. I wore the mask again in a minute. However I take the point. I'll submit Rs 1000 in Govt Account as a fine and show challah here 🙏 https://t.co/PLMuxUHWKc— Muhammed Hamza Shafqaat (@hamzashafqaat) October 30, 2020
