University of Children Health Sciences
Lahore: Approval has been given to set up a University of Children Health Sciences in Lahore, the capital of Punjab province. All mother and child care hospitals to be set up across Punjab will be attached to the university.
According to details, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Bazdar tweeted on social networking site Twitter that about 48% of the population of Punjab province is under 18 years of age but there are no seats for pediatrics specialization in our universities.
The Chief Minister said that we have given approval for setting up of University of Children Health Sciences in Lahore. All the Mother and Child Care Hospitals to be set up across Punjab would be attached to the Children Health Sciences.

It is to be noted that the health and education sector in Punjab province is moving towards improvement. Yesterday, 3 professors of Punjab University were included in the top 2% of researchers in the world.
According to a list released by Stanford University of California, Dr. Khalid Mahmood, Dean, Faculty of Management Sciences, Punjab University, Dr. Muhammad Sharif, Dean, Faculty of Science and Dr. Muhammad Akram, Department of Mathematics were among the top 2% researchers in the world.
The global ranking of the best researchers includes 160,000 researchers from all fields
