Kashmiris on both sides of the LoC and around the world are celebrating Black Day today on the 73rd anniversary of India’s illegal occupation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Other organizations in the Valley, including the All-Party Hurriyat Conference, have called for a complete strike in the Occupied Territories today and black flags are being hoisted at homes.

Imran Khan said that India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir is an international dispute, work for a peaceful resolution of the dispute in accordance with UN Security Council resolutions.
He said that Pakistan would continue to provide all possible assistance to Kashmiris till the right to self-determination was achieved.
On the other hand, there will be a protest in front of the Indian Embassy in Brussels today against the Indian occupation of Kashmir. The Kashmir Council is being organized by the European Union in the Belgian capital.

Chairman Kashmir Council European Union Ali Raza Syed has said that India has been oppressing Kashmiris for seven decades, the international community should stop human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.
Today is a dark day in the history of Kashmir. On October 27, the Kashmiri people all over the world, including Pakistan, celebrate it as a black day and protest. The Pakistani nation is also involved in this protest along with Kashmiri brothers and sisters.

At the time of the partition of India, a formula was worked out for the independent states to join Pakistan or India, which had the right to decide on the accession under the majority of the population, as the Muslim population in Jammu and Kashmir was 77%. Was to be given the right to join Pakistan but at that time Kashmir Governor Nehru who was also a Kashmiri did not accept this formula and an attempt was made to suppress the right of Muslim Kashmiris to join Pakistan.
On October 27, 1947, the Indian Army reached Srinagar but did not dare to move towards the occupied territory. The area liberated from Hari Singh was renamed Azad Jammu and Kashmir which is still an independent state. Kashmiris join Pakistan

The people of Gilgit-Baltistan had at the outset declared their recognition of Pakistan and waved the Pakistani flag there. Pakistan gave rights to Azad Kashmir as an independent state. Azad Kashmir is the front line of Pakistan while India is aggressive and repressive. Despite seven decades of occupation, the Kashmiri people are still fighting against India.
